Ah, such play acting marked my childhood, too. Seems to me we chose opposite roles, too. Funny but I can't remember who won in our version.
Great poem recalling those innocent days. I remember I had an Annie Oakley outfit with fringe!
We always seemed to do the Wizard of Oz in the street! I was never Dorothy, but I was often Glynda, the good witch!
And that's how it was! Excellent memory words!

What I think is interesting is that the role little sister takes is "Lakota" -- a specific tribal identity, not generic "Indian" suggesting knowledge beyond the play acting.
Role plays when young were always so much fun! And best of all, they seemed so real!
